How to Attend

May 1st, 2025

Human beings are homogeneous; they offer no such thing as a rational or normal way to do anything.  Yes, there are patterns that you can identify across individual behavior and there is a significant level of variance within the consensus.  Life for humans is still mostly redundant and unconscious.  I perceive that every person has a unique goal, what I entertain as the spirit of their life, meaning the theme and not some abstract element.  The questions I pondered as a child have matured over seventy-five plus years to an array of loftier questions—no longer a desire for “the answer.”  I now see an answer as an impasse; the end of the journey.

I have personally experienced many diverse phenomena, have shared many with others and have invoked a few.  The challenge is how to render the experiences into our logical language system to uncover anticipated meaning.  Do you see how this is seeking an answer?  I now deem the phenomena are intended to generate broader questions to invoke more conscious range and ranges to experience greater potential in life; literally the unknown proficiency developed over time within the context of the human redundant staging.  It encourages practice for humans to become something grander and hopefully more integrated.

To quote Julio Vincent Gambuto from his great little book, which I recommend, Please Unsubscribe, Thanks! (Avid Reader Press—Simon & Schuster, LLC).  “The digital age—the last twenty-five years out of the last three hundred thousand years that humans have been on the planet—requires new ceremonies to help us bring importance and meaning to what we now do with our time and to delineate chapters of our digital lives.”  He offers a grand plan worth entertaining.

My blogs this year are focused on systems from science that bridge unknowns like phenomena into our logical science platforms.  For fun take a look at a relative new offering; ergodic theory.  This is a mathematical idea (logical) that may be used to study dynamic systems over a period of time.  I would suggest that human life is a very dynamic system.  Any significant sample of such a system will display average properties of the whole.  All the observed states in the system are more or less probable as any others to be occurring elsewhere.

For example, I always select at least three aspects to peer into my future potential.  First to question is my value and how might I better walk my talk; best with every new event I engage in.  The second is to search for questions as how to update my vision; usually for the year.  And third are questions on how to support the mission in life that I hold sacred.  At least every five years I will mark some time in meditation for questions on how I may contribute to life on planet Earth.  Again, not for an answer but for what I need to question to target where my commitment and energy flows.  We are not here to learn how to be better humans.  We are here to explore the questions—what is a better human and how might I demonstrate that in this short adventure in life?
